How does it work?
Signing up is simple, requires no new terminals or software, and comes with included a variety of benefits for the low monthly fee of $9.95 per location. Buoy Local users link their Bangor Savings Bank Debit Mastercard® to the Buoy Local app* to earn points on all their purchases made at participating Buoy Local Businesses. If someone doesn’t have a Bangor Savings Bank debit card, they can still be a part of the Buoy Local program by linking any U.S. issued debit or credit card to their Buoy Local account and use a Buoy Local card to earn rewards.
Customers are encouraged to visit your business via the Buoy Local app* and the online directory, our promotion of the Buoy Local program to Bangor Savings Bank debit card users and customers, and the Buoy Local sticker on your front door. They will transact using a physical card which you can process using your POS system as you currently do or by using the card number online, over the phone, or in takeout/order ahead systems.

Customers Spend More Money More Often
When customers present a physical Buoy Local card, run it through your POS like any other credit card transaction. When a customer pays with their Bangor Savings Bank debit card, process it as a regular debit transaction. Customers will earn points at the register, over the phone, or on your online storefront or takeout/order ahead system.
